I have been working in the student union for two years now. During this time, I have noticed many inconveniences caused by the lack of a unified resource platform. For example, there are difficulties in reading and revising plans, timely information exchange, an effective channel for members to express their ideas, and a platform for information exchange with other students.
These issues can be addressed through an online work platform. Here are my ideas; I welcome your feedback:

My envisioned online platform design consists of two parts: one is an external news release platform, and the other is an internal work platform similar to an office system.
Let's start with the external news release platform. Its design could be entirely modeled after the school's website, with a single department responsible for maintaining and promptly updating various student union information. The advantages of this are obvious: it provides students with a channel to stay informed about student union activities, allows for the promotion of various events, and provides updates on event progress. An opinion box could also be set up on the external platform, allowing students to offer their feedback on the student union's work. Furthermore, effective communication sections could be established on this platform, such as polls, to help the student union better understand student needs and improve its work.
The following is the key point: the internal work platform. I believe this platform is urgently needed by our college, especially the First Branch. The First Branch is divided into two campuses, which causes significant inconvenience in information exchange. I often see Professor Lou posting various college activity information in the QQ group, but the QQ group is limited by Tencent and not very convenient to use. If we had a work platform, everything would be improved.
My vision for the work platform is similar to an OA (Office Automation) system. Each authorized user has a unique account, granting access to different functions based on their permissions. Posting various information is a basic function, but it can be expanded to include more complex features, such as uploading student union proposals, issuing notices, reviewing proposals, and facilitating internal student union communication. Additionally, a shared space can be created—a public area where proposals and other shared materials can be placed for authorized users to download, significantly reducing workload. Classroom and resource borrowing can also be managed through this system. Other functions can be added as needed.
I don't think building a system is complicated. I once built an OA system, and the system I mentioned above can be completed in no more than a month. I can be fully responsible for its development.
Having explained my vision, let's discuss how to implement it. There are two ways to achieve this working platform:
One option is to use the campus intranet, establishing a website there and having it maintained by a dedicated department of the student union. The only inconvenience is that logging into external systems requires using a proxy.
The second option is to use an external server with an international domain name to build a website. This requires an investment of approximately 1000 per year, and there is no guarantee of stable server operation or data security.
Furthermore, this system isn't limited to student unions; various student organizations from different schools can share this large platform. For example, clubs can have their own dedicated sections, giving each club its own space. Additionally, school administration can also be conducted through this system.
I believe that establishing this system will be entirely beneficial, as it can virtually centralize currently scattered resources, improve work efficiency, and reduce costs. I hope everyone can offer their opinions and we can discuss this together.
