In its announcement, Amazon stated that operating costs across the industry are increasing due to rising fuel costs and continuously escalating logistics and transportation costs. Previously, Amazon had been bearing these increased costs, but as costs remain persistently high, Amazon, like other major logistics providers, will charge a temporary surcharge on delivery fees to partially offset the actual increase in operating costs. Details are as follows:

1. North American site

Starting April 17, 2026, Amazon Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) shipping fees in the United States and Canada will be temporarily increased by a 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge. This surcharge will apply to FBA long-haul shipping from the United States to Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

Starting May 2, 2026, this surcharge will be charged for Multi-Channel Delivery (MCF) in the United States and Canada, and for the Buy with Prime service in the United States.

2. European Sites

Starting April 17, 2026, Amazon FBA delivery fees in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Sweden, Netherlands, Ireland, and Belgium will be temporarily increased by 1.5% for fuel and logistics-related surcharges.

From May 2, 2026, this surcharge will be charged for Multichannel Delivery (MCF) in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.

However, Amazon also stated in its announcement that seller success remains its top priority. Amazon recognizes that this temporary fee will increase sellers' cost considerations, and will continue to monitor fuel costs and reassess the surcharge as circumstances change.

Some sellers speculate that Amazon's price increase announcement may be due to the conflict between the United States and Iran.If the fighting stops, FBA fees may return to normal. However, the impact of the war is uncontrollable, and sellers can only bear the temporary increase in delivery fees in the near future.
