There was a World Cup warm-up match at midnight today, France vs. China. I didn't want to watch it because I had an SPSS exam this morning, but I couldn't resist taking a peek at midnight. And that peek lasted 70 minutes.
In the seventy-odd minutes, a free kick resulted in a world-class goal! China scored! China took the lead! What an exciting moment! It instantly woke me up from my drowsy state.

Think about how long it's been since I've watched the Chinese team play with such intensity. After taking the lead, the French team relentlessly attacked from 30 meters out. Every shot, every block, was nail-biting. Although it was a friendly match, at that moment it felt like a real battle.
The French team intended to use this match to test their skills and find their attacking rhythm, but they miscalculated and will pay the price for underestimating their opponent. While this one match doesn't prove anything, it's been a long time since the Chinese team has finally brought us fans some enjoyment. This match was nerve-wracking to watch, but ultimately, it was a happy occasion.
This national team, having defeated South Korea 3-0 to claim the championship in the Four Nations Tournament and now triumphing over a fully-fledged French team, gives us hope and, at the very least, brings us joy. Let's hope they can maintain this momentum.
