Seeking public opinion on the HelloGWU information forwarding center and new registration mechanism.

Dear users,

Hello everyone, it's been a while since my last update. I recently analyzed the user needs of HelloGWU and identified two key areas I'd like to hear your feedback on:

Information forwarding center

HelloGWU is now the largest rental and secondhand platform in Washington, D.C., but one user need remains unresolved: information dissemination and promotion. I'm considering leveraging our WeChat, email, and private messaging platforms to help users push and promote their information. The general process is as follows:

Users post information on the website –> which is then forwarded to our editors (via WeChat or email) –> based on the quality of the information (e.g., high-quality secondhand goods) and its urgency (e.g., urgent help), our editors help users spread the word on our WeChat, email, and private messaging platforms.

I'd love to hear your opinions and thoughts; feel free to leave a comment!

Registration mechanism reform

As we all know, HelloGWU has been targeted by scammers for a long time. Although a manual review mechanism and a user invitation registration system have been implemented, this problem remains unsolved. Due to the large number of registered users, some inevitably slip through the screening process. Therefore, I've come up with a proposed user mechanism reform measure, and I'd like to discuss its feasibility with everyone:

  1. The review mechanism has been abolished, and only an invitation-only registration mechanism has been opened. Only existing users can use gold coins to purchase verification codes for new users to register.
  2. We've opened up a registration mechanism for administrators. If new users don't know many existing users, they can add an administrator on WeChat, and the administrator will assist with the registration. (Due to WeChat's security mechanisms, it's easy to identify scammers' WeChat accounts.)
  3. Registration involves answering an open questionnaire. A certain number of questions will be provided and randomly selected during registration. Successful completion of the questionnaire will bypass the invitation code requirement. The questions are entirely in English and related to studying in Washington, D.C.
  4. We offer an invitation code purchase system. If, for any reason, the above methods fail and you have an urgent need, you can purchase an invitation code for automatic registration. (The purchase fee can also be used to reimburse technical development staff.)

I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.
