[Debate Script] 12.4 - A diploma cannot represent one's level of knowledge (Third speaker)

First, the opposing side frequently makes conceptual errors, either exaggerating or distorting concepts, and then imposing causal relationships, constantly resorting to sophistry.

Our first speaker has clearly explained the concepts of "diploma" and "knowledge level," and has also clarified what "representative" means. A diploma is a necessary but not sufficient condition for knowledge level; it is a proper subset of knowledge level. The two are fundamentally different in scope. How can one say that a diploma can represent knowledge level? To equate the two is utterly ridiculous!

Secondly, we must look to reality and connect with practical situations. Whether from an individual, school, or societal perspective, a diploma cannot represent one's level of knowledge. Compared to today's university students, Edison had little formal education, yet his level of knowledge is undeniable; Chairman Mao had little formal education, yet his level of knowledge is undeniable; Li Ka-shing had little formal education, yet his level of knowledge is undeniable. "The master leads you to the door, but the practice is up to you." Improving one's knowledge requires continuous learning through social practice. School diplomas are singular, one-sided, and outdated; they cannot represent a person's knowledge level at different times or in different periods. Moreover, society today values your genuine comprehensive practical abilities, not a seemingly substantial but ultimately meaningless diploma! I believe everyone here agrees with this point.

Finally, I want to tell everyone, don't be fooled by the apparent sincerity of your opponents! School isn't just about getting a diploma; it's about genuinely learning as much as possible and cultivating various abilities within a limited time. Remember: a diploma is not our ultimate goal! And what level do you, my opponents, aspire to achieve with a diploma? Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate, Postdoctoral Fellowship, and what comes after that? Fighter, Knight, Martyr, Hero?

From any perspective, you only receive a diploma if your knowledge level exceeds the level covered by the diploma. If your knowledge level is insufficient, or doesn't exceed the level covered by the diploma, how can you obtain one? Hiring a ghostwriter or cheating? We certainly don't support these unethical practices!
A diploma is merely a delayed proof of your education; it demonstrates that you acquired sufficient knowledge in the past, but it does not represent your current level of knowledge. Therefore, we firmly believe that a diploma cannot represent one's level of knowledge!
