Game Theory

Get a chance with ability, deserve to win.

I once dreamed of standing atop a mountain, overlooking the rolling villages, singing my dreams as the wind blew them away.

Today, I happened to catch Zealer's May launch event. A person of similar age boldly shared his ideals, painful growth experiences, and dreams. I initially thought it was just some loser showing off, continuing to spout internet nonsense. His speech lacked any skill, and sometimes even seemed vulgar, but every word was insightful and inspiring. Suddenly, I had a strange feeling: have I often had moments like this? Have I gradually buried my passion? Is my youth gone? Am I standing at a crossroads in my destiny?

I consider myself lucky to have been exposed to the internet from a young age. At fourteen, I started my own Pingjing Network, beginning to weave my dreams. Over a decade of struggle and hard work yielded little success, but I accumulated many scars. Pingjing.com, Fordbo, Football China, Wenyi Community… and most recently, hellogwu—each project is still vivid in my memory.

In an interview, he once said, "My initial intention was to create a better platform for everyone through my small act, making their lives more convenient." During my student days, I always focused on service, thinking about how the internet could provide value and improve people's lives, but I overlooked a crucial point: creating value. If we merely provide a good platform, using the internet to offer shortcuts in life, we are simply pushing humanity forward. True meaning lies in creating value through the internet, changing people's lifestyles, and improving their quality of life.

Simply focusing on optimization and imagining that improving the product experience will attract users is naive. The essence of internet products should be creation—creating new ways of doing things, new experiences, and new lifestyles. Looking at all successful internet companies, which one didn't start from this premise?

The barriers to entry on the internet are getting lower and lower. Now, anyone with an interest can create a decent website. But who knows how much technical support and optimization is needed behind the scenes to make a website grow and succeed? It's like the first time someone else uses a computer; it's novel and exciting, and everyone wants one. But when computers are widespread and everyone owns one, how many people don't even know how to reinstall an operating system? When everyone has a computer, what will attract attention to you? Apple made changes, while domestically produced systems based on reskinned versions of others failed.

You see others looking cool, but you don't know their strength and hard work.
