Death is the beginning of new life.

This incident reminded me of 2006, when Pingjing.com, which I had been running for over two years and was at its peak, suffered complete data loss. It took a lot of effort to recover some of the data; back then, I used my home computer as a server and file recovery tools to recover most of the files. However, since it was only recovered files, the website continued to experience problems and eventually disappeared.

This project, hellogwu, is the one I'm most satisfied with since Pingjing.com disappeared in 2008. It combines previous experience, has been continuously updated for over a year, and has been maintained with the help of many friends, gradually reaching a certain scale. However, accidents often happen in an instant. All the data was gone, and it felt like the world suddenly went empty. I think that's how fate plays tricks on people; things that you think are impossible actually happen.

What can be done? A bustling metropolis is destroyed in an instant by an atomic bomb. What will the survivors do? One second they are dreaming of a bright future, the next the world collapses, but as long as there is a breath of life, life goes on, and hope endures. Even in ruins, the foundation for rebirth can be found. The soul and the essence remain, and everything can be achieved again with our own hands.

Sadness only wastes time; reconstruction is urgently needed. After recovering usable data and integrating resources, we realized this wasn't the end of the world, but a rebirth. As the saying goes, "No destruction, no construction." Without this destruction, perhaps things would remain as they are. In this reconstruction, I will integrate previous shortcomings and strive to create a completely new Hellogwu.

This semester has been exceptionally busy due to preparing for early graduation (December), with four courses and job hunting/interviews. Therefore, the restructuring plan may be a little delayed, but I guarantee that this restructuring will result in a completely new and impressive Hellogwu. Below are some ideas; I welcome your feedback.

1. A brand-new interface, highlighting information urgently needed by international students, positioning itself as a practical website.

2. More convenient communication methods, more user-friendly design, say goodbye to cumbersome operations.

3. Frequently Used Student Sections: Rentals and Transactions will be developed as separate modules and will facilitate students' searching and posting.

4. Mobile Platform: Primarily for chatting and getting to know classmates (similar to WeChat), while also incorporating website news, online forums, and local friends. There's also the possibility of exploring integration with the school's news system (and the school's email).

Finally, I apologize for any inconvenience caused. I'm truly sorry.
