I've compiled a list of completed American TV series because I'm really tired of waiting for shows to air and want to watch them all at once. This list will make it easier for me to buy shows and catch up on them, and it's also for your reference. Please leave a comment if there are any omissions or recommendations.

Friends

1994–2004, 10 seasons

*Friends* is an American sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. It premiered on NBC on September 22, 1994, and ended on May 6, 2004, running for ten seasons. The story revolves around the lives of a group of friends in Manhattan, New York City. The show was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions in conjunction with Warner Bros. Television. The original three executive producers of *Friends* were Kevin S. Bright, Marta Kauffman, and David Crane, with several other executive producers joining in subsequent seasons. The show aired in over 100 countries, and subsequent reruns continued to enjoy high viewership. It is estimated that 51.1 million people in the United States watched the finale.

Sex and the City

1998-2004, 6 seasons

Sex and the City is an American comedy television series that aired on HBO. It premiered on June 6, 1998, and ended on February 22, 2004, running for six seasons and 94 episodes. The series won numerous Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
This series tells the story of four women living in New York City. While considered a sitcom, it features a coherent plot and dramatic twists. It also addresses social issues, often concerning women in the 1990s, and shows how changing roles and perceptions of women affect these four women.
The series was primarily filmed at Silvercup Studios in New York City, with location shooting in Manhattan. After its initial run, it was also broadcast on other television channels, such as TBS, WGN, CW, and other local stations. However, some stations edited the original footage as needed to avoid airing segments unsuitable for general audiences.

24 is an American counterterrorism and espionage television series that premiered on Fox Broadcasting Company in 2001. The story primarily takes place within the fictional Counterterrorism Unit (CTU) of the U.S. federal government. The series enjoyed a long period of high viewership and won Emmy and Golden Globe Awards, becoming one of the longest-running action dramas in American television history. The show provides a realistic portrayal of wiretapping, surveillance, document cracking, torture, political compromise, and presidential pardons. The tragic heroism and uncompromising attitude towards criminals (including the U.S. president) displayed by the protagonist, Jack Bauer, become increasingly apparent as the series progresses.

Boston Legal

*Boston Legal* is an American legal comedy series written and produced by David E. Kelly, and produced by 20th Century Fox Television, premiering on ABC. The series aired from October 3, 2004 to December 8, 2008. It stars James Spader, Candace Bergen, and William Shatner. *Boston Legal* is a spin-off of another long-running legal drama by David E. Kelly, *The Practice*, and tells the story of Alan Shul, a character from *The Practice*, working at the law firm of Corinne Pull Smart.

Dr. House

2004-2012, 8 seasons

*House, M.D.* is an American medical television series that premiered on Fox Television from November 16, 2004, to May 12, 2012, running for eight seasons. The series centers on Dr. Greeley House, played by Hugh Laurie, a maverick with misanthropic and antisocial tendencies, highly skilled in medicine but also heavily reliant on painkillers. House leads a team of diagnoses at a fictional teaching hospital in Princeton–Plainsboro, New Jersey. The initial concept for the series came from Paul Atannacio, with David Shaw being a key figure in creating the character of House. The series was executive produced by Shaw, Atannacio, and business partner Katie Jacobs, as well as director Bryan Singer. Most of the filming took place in Century City, Los Angeles.

Lost

2004-2010, 6 seasons

*Lost* is an American television series originally broadcast by ABC. It aired for six seasons, from September 22, 2004 to May 23, 2010. The series tells the story of the survivors of Ocean Airlines Flight 815, a flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, which crashed on a mysterious tropical island in the South Pacific.

Desperate Housewives

2004-2012, 8 seasons

Desperate Housewives is an American television soap opera produced by ABC. The story is set in the fictional town of Wisteria and depicts the lives of four suburban housewives. Each season features a completely new storyline and plot.

How I Met Your Mother

2005-2014, 9 seasons

How I Met Your Mother (often abbreviated as HIMYM), also known as The Romantic Story of My Parents, is an American sitcom that premiered on CBS on September 19, 2005. The series was created by Craig Toms and Carter Beth. The story revolves around Ted Mosby in 2030 as he begins to tell his children how he met their mother. Other main characters include Matthew Erickson, Robin Schbesky, Barney Stinson, and Lily Aldrin.

Heroes

2006-2010, 4 seasons

*Heroes* is an American television series that premiered on NBC on September 25, 2006. It tells the story of a group of ordinary people who discover they possess superpowers (such as telepathy, time manipulation, and flight), and how these powers affect their lives. The series draws inspiration from American superhero comics, employing multiple storylines that converge on a single main plot. Filming was primarily conducted in Los Angeles.

Gossip Girl

2007-2012, 6 seasons

Gossip Girl is an American teen drama television series adapted from the novel series written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The first season premiered on The CW in 2007. The show depicts the lives of Manhattan's upper class, showcasing the lifestyles of wealthy young people. Gossip Girl is the most mysterious figure on Manhattan's Upper East Side; she is the sole source of information about the intricate details of life for the elite and has a group of wealthy young men and women who are always there to provide her with gossip.

Breaking Bad

2008-2013, 5 seasons

Breaking Bad is an American television series created and produced by Vince Gilligan. It was originally produced and broadcast by AMC in the United States and Canada. It premiered on January 20, 2008, as a summer series, and aired its final episode (season 5, episode 16) on September 29, 2013, for a total of five seasons and 62 episodes. The fifth and final season, consisting of 16 episodes, began production in the first half of 2012 and was divided into two parts, with the second half premiering on August 11, 2013.
Breaking Bad was primarily filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and tells the criminal story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher. Suffering from terminal lung cancer and experiencing career setbacks, he finds himself unable to utilize his chemistry talents, leading to a low point in his life. In despair, he collaborates with his former mentor, Jesse Pinkman, to manufacture and sell methamphetamine, hoping to leave money to solve his family's urgent financial crisis after his death.
The show won ten Primetime Emmy Awards, including three consecutive wins for Best Actor for Bryan Cranston (Walter White), two wins for Best Supporting Actor (Alan Paul (Jesse Pinkman)), and one win for Best Supporting Actress (Anna Gom (Silker White)). In September 2013, after two nominations without winning, Breaking Bad finally won the 65th Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.

Revenge

2011-2015, 4 seasons

Revenge is an American television series produced by ABC, starring Madeline Stowaway, Emily Finkapp, Josh Boman, and Gabriel Mann. The series was inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo.
