Midnight Chunibyo (middle school syndrome)

The barrel effect states that a barrel filled with water is made up of many wooden planks, and the amount of water it can hold is determined by all these planks. If one plank is very short, then the amount of water the barrel can hold is limited by this short plank.

A team's success isn't built on the efforts of a few individuals, but on mutual support and shared progress. If someone falls behind, we must wait for them, help them, and support them until we can journey together again. Even if a few individuals excel and forge ahead, it's not enough to drive the entire team's progress. Anything higher than the lowest plank is meaningless; the higher it goes, the greater the waste. What we need is sharing, mutual assistance, and collaboration.

In CSSA (Chinese Social Association), there are always people who don't reply to emails. Emails are sent, but it's unclear whether they didn't receive them or are deliberately avoiding a reply. This not only slows down the entire team's progress but also severely damages work enthusiasm and confidence. It's unclear whether they don't have their email account open or simply lack interest in the work. Often, an email contains a person's hard work and plans; if it remains unanswered, these plans may continue to be delayed, and enthusiasm will gradually wane.

Everyone in a position should fulfill their responsibilities; each person is indispensable to the team. If someone becomes the weak link, all the other efforts of the team will be in vain. I don't know what the friends who received the email were thinking at the time. The request wasn't much, just to respond to your opinions and suggestions, hoping that such delays will not happen again, and that everyone can be more proactive.

Continue, or leave immediately!

There are no personal benefits to be gained in CSSA. The purpose of coming here is not to seek personal gain or fame. If you have such thoughts, please leave immediately. What's needed here is passionate dedication. Why dedicate yourself? It's about realizing your self-worth, proving your abilities and what you can do. From this perspective, please take action; time waits for no one. If anything is diminishing your enthusiasm, please speak up immediately. Don't bottle it up. The team is about solving problems; no one will make things difficult for their own members. It's just that everyone isn't doing enough.

What should CSSA be like? An elite, dedicated, and positive team! Our daily work serves students in the US, including helping new students integrate and connecting with upperclassmen. We are platform builders and service providers. Moving forward, we aim to create; we are not just a student union, but more like a non-profit organization. We want to use our abilities to spread Chinese culture, create more business opportunities, and promote employment for international students. What should our team be like? Like a family, everyone has their own role, without hierarchy. Beyond daily affairs, we spend a lot of time discussing dreams and the future, sharing our experiences, and sparking innovative ideas. Passing on the torch from generation to generation, progressing step by step.

Now, everything needs to be rebuilt, and we all need to work hard. I hope you won't become that weak link.
